Why is the company called Redwood Kitchens?

Back in 2002 when I was looking to name my kitchen business it took quite a while to settle on a name that I thought would help project some of the qualities I want customers to know that I care about – range of choice and quality of product at a reasonable price, good design and probably the most important, installation to a high standard.

At the time, I had a contract with MFI to install their kitchens, but over time had become unhappy with the compromises that had to be made working for a large company – I felt that homeowners deserved better, so I set about finding suppliers that could help me deliver a more bespoke product and service at realistic prices.

I finally settled on the name Redwood because apart from liking the warmth of the name, the giant redwood trees which are found mostly in California are known for the height and great age to which they grow.  It’s these characteristics that I feel match quite well to the product and service that we offer.

While our cabinets are not made from ‘redwood’ we use widely regarded 18mm Egger furniture board that when installed correctly will easily stand the test of time for 20 or more years.  Likewise we put a lot of effort into selecting appliances, worktops and other relevant kitchen technologies that will not only look great now but equally stand the test of time so protecting your investment.

So whatever your budget – £6000 or £60,000 we have a product and service that will fit you and your space.  To find out about how our design process could work for you, click for more details…
