A Warm, Modern Kitchen with Storage at Its Heart

In early 2024, the client was comparing kitchen companies, looking for a provider who could both offer flexibility in product choice and handle the entire project, including decorating. They envisioned a modern kitchen with high-gloss finishes, contrasting elements for visual appeal, and durable yet stylish worktops and flooring with storage a key concern. Their budget was around £15,000.

From our Style collection, gloss Dust Grey cabinets, complemented by Light Grey wall cabinets framed with matching panels, pelmets, and cornices were selected. Extra-deep square-edged laminate worktops in Calais Travertine added a light grey speckled finish, perfectly contrasting the gunmetal grey granite sink and matching tap. Warm oak-effect splashbacks and Camaro LVT flooring in “Quayside Oak” brought natural texture and warmth to the design.

Key design features included:

• 330mm deep wall units to accommodate large dinner plates.
• Two wide drawer units flanking the oven for easy-access storage.
• A wall-mounted microwave to maximise worktop space.
• 1250mm custom sink unit to optimise corner storage and access.
• Granite sink with matching flex hose tap.
• Two bespoke open-shelf cabinets to form a walk-in pantry in an adjacent area under the stairs.

Our team handled every aspect of the project, from installation to decorating, ensuring the walls and ceiling were painted in white with gloss-finished woodwork for a bright, clean look. The project included LED under-cabinet lighting, premium Neff oven, Redwood Select microwave, induction hob, and extractor, while retaining the client’s freestanding dishwasher and fridge freezer to maintain budget efficiency.

The completed kitchen blends functionality with elegance, offering smart storage solutions, durable finishes, and a welcoming atmosphere. The gloss cabinets, paired with oak-effect flooring and splashbacks, create a modern yet warm aesthetic. The kitchen is practical for everyday use while offering a sleek space for entertaining.

This project was about making the available budget work hard without losing the sense of a considered, complete room.

Existing appliances were retained where it made sense, while investment was directed towards storage, lighting, flooring and the parts of the installation that would have the greatest day-to-day impact.

Custom-sized cabinetry helped make better use of the available space, including the 1250mm sink unit and the walk-in pantry. Additionally, the worktop-height shelf in the pantry matched the kitchen worktop, helping connect the two spaces, while also providing a more durable and practical surface than a standard cabinet shelf.
